What is the difference between money and currency?
Money is an intangible system of value that makes the exchange of goods and services possible, now and in the future. It has properties that allow for the smooth exchange of goods, is fungible, durable, convenient to carry and divide, and recognizable so that people can trust it and confidently complete their exchanges of goods and services. Money is a broader term that encompasses various types of currencies.
Currency, on the other hand, is simply one tangible form of money. It is a medium of exchange for goods and services, usually issued by a government and generally accepted at its face value as a method of payment. Currency is used every day by people all over the world and comes in the form of paper and coins. Unlike money, currency is not intangible and has no intrinsic value; its value is based on a government's guarantee to accept it as payment for debts.
